British American University is governed by rules and regulations approved by the Governing Council and the Senate. They protect the quality of our academic awards, the rights of every member of the community and the reputation of the University.
All students, staff and visitors are expected to know and follow these policies. Detailed examination and assessment rules for students are published separately.
Plagiarism, cheating, impersonation and falsification of results are serious offenses. Cases are investigated by the Faculty and the Senate and may lead to cancellation of results, suspension or expulsion.
Members of the University community must behave with honesty, courtesy and respect, on campus, online and when representing BAU elsewhere.
Examinations are conducted under strict rules on attendance, identification, permitted materials and behavior in the examination hall. See the Rules & Regulations for Students for full details.
Students are expected to dress decently and appropriately for an academic environment, and in line with any additional requirements of their Faculty or practical classes.
BAU does not tolerate discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, nationality, religion, sex, disability or age. Concerns can be reported confidentially to Student Affairs.
Student education records are protected in accordance with the U.S. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
University email, learning platforms and networks must be used lawfully and responsibly. Accounts must not be shared.
Everyone on campus must follow safety instructions, report incidents promptly and carry University identification.
Students may appeal academic decisions or raise complaints through the published procedure. Contact Support or Student Affairs for guidance.
